Update: New due date for Celebrating Home Fundraiser

8th Grade Parents

Due to the most recent snow day and scheduled out of schools days, the due date for the Celebrating Home fundraiser has been changed to February 16th Tuesday.

Again, fundraiser packages are available (flyer and collection envelopes) at both schools in the office or from Mr. Brokering at Fulton or Mr. Kevin Johnson at Carriel.

Be sure to have your student turn the sealed order forms with money or check (made payable to appropriate school – Fulton Jr. High or Carriel Jr High) into the black crate label “Celebrating Home 8th Grade Trip DC” in each school’s office.

The expected arrival date is the end of February. You will receive information about exact date and times orders will need to be pickup in future communication. The orders will be delivered to Mona Brown, 1170 Red Hawk Lane, O’Fallon.

For any questions, please contact
Mona Brown – 618 401 5929 or mbrown_89@yahoo.com.

Thanks
Mary Warfield (publicity) on behalf of Mona Brown – Celebrating Home Chair

Basket Donations Needed!

Please support the 8th Grade Trip Trivia Night/Silent Auction by donating a theme-appropriate item for your child’s homeroom basket.  There is no need to spend a lot – the combination of your donation with others makes a great basket.  All proceeds will benefit the 8th Grade Trip to Washington DC.

Simply send an item with your child to school to donate during their assigned homeroom (5th hour); each homeroom class has been assigned a basket “theme” to ensure a large assortment of basket possibilities.  All donations need to be received by February 26.   The Silent Auction will only be as successful as the donations we receive – so please be creative!

Please see attached flyer (download Fulton Baskets or Carriel Baskets) with details for Trivia night and each schools specific “Theme” donation listing and contacts.

The deadline to register for the trip is Friday, January 29!

Educational Tours needs to know an exact number of students/adult chaperones traveling so they can make hotel arrangements.

If you have registered for the trip within the last few days, you may have been told from Educational Tours that you are on a waiting list.  We have been told that the accounting department at Educational Tours is a little behind, and everyone who has signed up during the past week and has a deposit on record is on the trip roster.

Again, if you are going on this year’s trip, you need to be registered by Friday, January 29!

CHAPERONE APPLICATIONS DUE FEBRUARY 12, 2010

Any parent or school staff member interested in attending the trip as a paid chaperone (trip cost is free), needs to fill out a chaperone application form and return it to Mr. Flaar or Mr. Brokering at Fulton, or Mrs. Hays or Mr. Johnson at Carriel by Friday, February 12. The Fairness Committee will meet shortly after the application deadline, and all applicants will be notified by the end of February if they have been chosen as a paid chaperone or not.
